Life Is A Visitor

Life is a visitor, and a traveler.

It comes, renting slender slivers of flesh for precious snippets of time,

and then moves on.

It makes friends, acquires new attributes, encounters new experiences

and takes snapshots of itself that will always remain important to it;

It checks out, sometimes in a rush, and sometimes after a long time.

It leaves, but never ends.

We grieve its passing from this or that sliver,

but are never truly without it.
